EEOC Watch: A Project of English First

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has sought to make language choice a protected civil right since the last days of the Carter Administration.

Since any EEOC complaint, no matter how unjustified, means bad publicity and costly legal fees, most places of business simply inquire what it would take to make a language complaint go away.

This web site is intended as a place where victims of the EEOC's determination to enforce laws which neither Congress has passed nor the Supreme Court has approved can locate critical information in a timely way.

The EEOC versus the Salvation Army: Latest News

In March of 2007, the EEOC sued the Salvation Army over its requirement that employees must learn English. This lawsuit has triggered a Congressional uproar.
